Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American broadcaster. She is employed by ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She's the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. When she was just nine, Collins's ability to speak two languages has led to her obtaining an employment in Miami as an assistant producer at Univision. As an assistant producer she was given the chance to collaborate with national program producers, such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, the CBS station located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drugs and immigration issues across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she worked as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5 pm, an anchor for the news channel on English for 9 pm, then a news anchor for 10pm before returning on channel Spanish channel. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Then she became the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She wrote on The NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. She was hired as anchor of the sports program for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. In similar roles for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She also has an older sibling. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the young Collins was able to take a job with her older sister. Antonietta was a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she wanted. So while assessing if Mount Union would be a good fit for her, Antonietta visited the school. Then, she fell in love with the school. The university offered her major. She graduated from high school and was enrolled in media studies at the college. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a student in her class, developed an ongoing friendship with the student. It was he who inspired her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm in Journalism touched her deeply. She determined to meet his demands and never let him down.
